Meet the Team
Jeffrey Humphreys
My name is Jeffrey Humphreys, I am originally from North Central Texas. Having family who lives in Lillian, we’ve been visiting the Gulf Coast for as long as I can remember. As soon as we were able to make the move permanent, we did so without hesitation! We now call Josephine, home and love the laidback, relaxed feel of the area.
I currently hold an Unlimited Home Builder’s License in the State of Alabama, am a Fortified Wise Professional Member and maintain my Alabama Property Adjuster’s License. I am the founder and owner of High Tide Contracting and Roofing, LLC, Operations Manager over field work, and maintain quality control over all projects we manage. Being organized, and having a strong background in construction from the ground-up, along with communication and time management skills have all lead to the success of High Tide.
My start in construction began in high school on a framing crew and carried me through college at Sam Houston State University where I majored in Criminal Justice. After college, I moved back to my hometown, married my wife, Bek and together we have one son, Chance. Framing was the startup that naturally progressed into other areas of construction such as Fire/Water/Wind Restoration that led me to be a perfect fit as a Property/Casualty Insurance Adjuster.
Being an Independent Insurance Adjuster provided me with the downtime needed that would allow me to do what I love; build and renovate properties. Over the years I have lost count of the number of properties we have either renovated or built from the ground up, held for rental or sold to move onto the next project. We owned a roofing company in Texas; as well as built custom houses, spec houses, multi-family properties and large commercial storage complexes. When we decided to make the move to Alabama full-time, we sold off all of our Texas properties and made the decision to focus solely on our roofing business here.
In my free time, which admittedly isn’t often as I enjoy my work life and being busy, I spend time with my family. Bek and I love to take the boat out fishing or just cruising and spending time with our son, Chance and daughter-in-law, Caro. I enjoy working in the yard and listening to a variety of podcasts during my morning walks. A busy day that isn’t spent being idle, is a day well-spent.
Bekki Humphreys
Hi! My name is Bekki Humphreys, but everyone calls me Bek. A Texas Native, from the Dallas/Fort Worth area, I am now blessed to call Josephine, AL home! I am a small-town girl at heart and was thankful to get away from the hustle and bustle that came along with living in such a fast-paced environment.
While wife, mom and Grammi to my little grand-dog will always be my favorite titles, I have spent quite a lot of time in the residential real estate world in one facet or another. Real Estate and construction are in my blood; my dad was a brick mason when he was young and eventually made the move into residential and commercial construction. My mom worked in the title industry for as long as I can remember before closing out her career as part owner of a title company.
My first step into Real Estate, other than working with my mom, was working for a Commercial Real Estate Broker – I quickly found selling Real Estate was not my favorite but, I excelled at the leasing end of it. Which ended up benefitting me in the life Jeff and I created. Throughout the builds and rentals we completed, selling and handling the leasing was always my ‘thing’. I loved it! While managing our properties I also worked for an Independent Insurance Adjusting Company as a File Reviewer.
Now at High Tide, I get to do what I do best, work behind the scenes! Permitting, submittals, invoicing and scheduling Inspections are my day-to-day duties; with an occasional assist when a customer has an insurance claim. But posting the houses we get to work on to social media is my favorite! I love getting to see how a new roof can totally transform a house and hearing from the guys how much the customer’s love their new roof, well, that makes my day! I think I have the best job in the company.
In my downtime I LOVE to go fishing and be on the boat with Jeff. Spending time with my him, our son and daughter-in-law is my favorite way to spend a day! I can also read the day away if given the opportunity and one day, my goal is to be a published author of some sort; that has always been my dream!
Taylor Carpenter
My name is Taylor Carpenter. I am originally from Leroy, Alabama, and have been living in the Fairhope area since 2022 with my wife, Katherine, and our son, Clay. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Operations Management from the University of Alabama.
My experience in construction dates back to my teenage years, starting with summer jobs at age 14. Throughout high school, I worked for a residential and commercial handyman service. During my undergraduate studies, I transitioned into home automation, working part-time while pursuing my degree.
Following my degree, I entered the steel industry. While I enjoyed the industry it was not the fit I was looking for in my life. An opportunity to work with a local Mobile Home Company arose and I worked as a setup and transportation supervisor for them. Eventually, I returned to residential and commercial handyman work. It was during this time that I met Jeff and Bek Humphreys with High Tide Contracting and Roofing. I am currently a roofing contractor and foreman with their company.
Working each project from start to finish allows me to be hands on and ensure that the job goes smoothly and exactly as we have contracted to complete it. My early training in all facets of residential repair work has allowed me to bring additional insight into any unforeseen repair that may be necessary during the roof tear-off and installation. Having a degree in Operations Management has made the transition into roofing contractor and foreman natural in that time management along with scheduling, ordering materials and supervision of the jobsite is paramount to a successful project completion.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and son and going to the beach. I am an avid baseball, football and rugby fan; I played rugby while in college. I also enjoy most anything that keeps me outdoors, from kayak fishing to large game hunting.
